SHREO - Safety, Health and Environment Research Organization by its Statute and the laws applicable to the type of entity that the organization is can create sub headquarters, offices and agencies worldwide. In the case of Santos in which the organization develops most of its activities it has been established a Regional Center in Santos (Nucleus for Environmental Research of Santos), which develops various activities in the Region. Due to this large number of activities a president was elected for this Regional Center.
Prof. Dr. Joseph Harari
President of NPABS
Dr. Joseph Harari has a BS in Physics by the Institute of Physics, University of Sao Paulo (1973), M.Sc. in Physical Oceanography at the Oceanographic Institute of USP (1977), Ph.D. in Meteorology and Geophysics at the Astronomical Institute of USP (1984) and Professor in Physical Oceanography at the Oceanographic Institute of USP (1991). He acts as a teacher of the Oceanographic Institute of USP since 1981, teaching courses on Fundamentals of Physical Oceanography, Numerical Modeling of Hydrodynamics and Satellite Altimetry. He is an advisor professor of graduation, an expert in the areas of numerical modeling hydrodynamics, coastal processes, tidal and satellite altimetry. He published several scientific papers, with emphasis on studies of coastal areas of Brazil and the State of Sao Paulo. He is a member - founder of Shero - Safety, Health and Environment Research Organization and currently holds the presidency of the Nucleus of Santos (NPABS). |
